About this site

This GPS site consists of two major functions:

1) I use the Self-Hosted GPS Tracker app on my Android phone to record my GPS position. While I'm riding, my phone sends my current latitude/longitude coordinates to this web site every 30 seconds. So it's a very accurate recording of where I've been.

2) I developed this web site, which reads the stored data and plots those points on a map using Google Maps API.

Note that if you zoom in, you'll see that many of the lines are not on roads. This is because each of the locations (recorded every 30 seconds) are simply plotted on the map, and then a straight line is drawn between them. It would look cleaner if I plotted my location every second instead of every 30 seconds, but it's just not necessary.
